Dermal fillers are a minimally invasive treatment for lost facial volume and hydration, helping restore and maintain a youthful, healthy-looking complexion.
Book Online TodayAs we age, the fat pads in our cheeks lose saturation and sink, drawing the skin down towards the jaw and neck and emptying the cheeks of youthful volume. Dermal fillers are a versatile treatment, restoring volume while also hydrating the skin and stimulating new production of collagen. Dermal fillers are also used to strengthen and re-contour the structure of your face.

Dermal fillers can halt the loss of facial volume that comes to us with age. Fillers are a gel-like substance formed mainly of hyaluronic acid – a naturally bodily product that will eventually dissolve. Fillers hydrate the skin while enhancing and restoring lost volume.
Dermal fillers can be used to strengthen the appearance of a ‘weak chin’ and add definition to the jawline. Female clients often want to achieve a more delicate, heart-shaped face and male clients, a stronger, more chiselled profile.
Clients often use dermal fillers to smooth out a bump or irregularities in the profile and shape of their nose. The effect is temporary, making dermal fillers a great way to alter your appearance without committing to a permanent result or requiring surgery, with all its associated downtime and expense.
The hyaluronic acid in Botox is able to hold 10,000 times its weight in water, binding it within the skin. By hydrating and plumping the skin with hyaluronic acid gel, dermal fillers tighten the skin, reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
As facial volume is lost in the cheeks, it can leave the area below the eyes looking hollow and shadowed, giving a tired, drawn appearance. Dermal fillers can restore volume, refreshing and opening up the eye area for a more youthful appearance.
Some fillers work well in conjunction with each other, such as chin fillers and jawline fillers. During your consultation with our Surrey-based aesthetic team, we will ask questions to understand your needs and goals, and discuss your options with you to agree a treatment plan.
We use a topical numbing cream prior to treatment, and the fillers themselves contain a small amount of anaesthetic, so treatment should be pain free.
Some patients might experience a degree of redness, swelling, or bruising after treatment, but this is usually very slight and will subside within a day. Small bruises at the injection sites can be hidden with concealer until they heal.
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatories such as aspirin or Ibuprofen can exaggerate swelling, bruising, and marks at the injection sites. Don’t consume alcohol for 48 hours prior to treatment, and for another 48 hours afterwards. To maximise the results of dermal fillers, avoid pushing and pulling at your skin, and only scrub gently until the fillers have settled.
There is an immediate visual impact, which is one of the reasons dermal fillers are so popular. It can take around 14 days for dermal fillers to fully settle, and for any slight bruising to heal.
