Dr Roisin McHugh has over two decades of medical experience and has been a core part of Epsom Skin Clinics since 2012. She trained at Imperial College London (St Mary’s Hospital), earning an Intercalated BSc from University College London in 1998. Her postgraduate GP training in Derry included qualifications in Elderly Care, Child Health, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and Family Planning, followed by two years working as a GP in Australia.
It was during her time in Townsville – a tropical region with a high rate of sun-related skin conditions – that Dr McHugh developed a deep interest in Dermatology. Upon returning to London, she completed the Cardiff Diploma in Practical Dermatology and has maintained a strong clinical focus in both medical and cosmetic skin health ever since.
In 2012, Dr McHugh trained in Aesthetic Medicine and joined Epsom Skin Clinics, where she refined her skills under the guidance of the clinic’s founder, Dr Paul Steventon. Her work combines a deep medical understanding of skin with advanced aesthetic techniques to safely enhance and rejuvenate each patient’s natural beauty.

Most treatments are very well tolerated. Numbing cream is often used to ensure comfort, and Dr McHugh always explains what to expect at every stage.
This depends on the treatment, but results from botulinum toxin typically last 3–4 months, while fillers and collagen stimulators can last from 6–18 months. Dr McHugh will discuss this with you during your consultation.
