At Epsom Skin Clinics, we offer 7 veriations of Medical Skin Peels:
- Lactic: a lactic acid peel ideal for aging, dry and sensitive skin types.
- Alpha Beta: a blend of Lactic and Salicylic acid will help with combination skin, oily skin and congestion.
- Dermafrost: a Salicylic acid peel ideal for acne prone skin.
- Mandeliclear: this peel combines Mandelic, Salicylic, Lactic and Resorcinol acids. Designed to brighten post-inflammatory pigmentation due to acne, melasma or sun damage.
- Jessner: a medium depth peel designed to treat pigmentation, acne, sun damage and hyperpigmentation
- Obagi: a superficial to medium depth peel designed to treat acne prone skin, congested complexions, fine lines, and sun damage
- Azelan: a targeted peel designed to treat acne vulgaris, oily and acne-prone skin, rosacea, and associated redness or inflammation
Skin peels remove the outer layer of damaged cells, revealing brighter, smoother skin beneath. Each active ingredient will target specific imperfections such as bacteria, overproduction of oil, stimulated pigment cells, denatured collagen and elastin. The treatment aids cell turnover and stimulates collagen and elastin production in the deeper layers of the skin, for a firmer, more supple complexion.
These skin peels range from superficial to medium depth. After a superficial peel you may experience some redness and tingling following the treatment which will last 12-24 hours. After a medium depth peel you will experience sheet-like peeling for up to 10 days. Your practitioner will recommend a post peel homecare to use to help protect your skin whilst it heals.
This can vary depending on your needs. A personal treatment plan will be discussed in your consultation. We would recommend having a superficial peel once a month whereas as the medium depth peels should be done 8 weeks apart.
